Cádiz

If you visit it, you will not forget it. You could write a book and a thousand love poems about this wonderful city, and even then you would still fail to capture all its beauty. It’s world renown Puerta de las Indias made Phoenicians, Romans and many other civilizations fall in love with it. Even Lord Byron could not resist it… nor its stunning women. Cadiz is known for its tapas and wines, its people singing in the streets and telling top-notch jokes.
You could write a million things worth noting about Cadiz, but it’s best to go there and visit, so you can discover this coastal gem.

“Taking a stroll through its streets is a real pleasure no matter which season of the year: you can experience it by the sea or go to the old part of town, where you can feel the echoes of history bouncing off every corner.
Cadiz is a walk around the Genovés Park or the Barrio de la Viña eating sardines, or letting the spirit of carnival sink in with one of its many Carnavaleras bands.
Cadiz is a summer concert at the Palacio de Santa Catalina or a masterly exhibition at the historical museum. Its open air market is a dream come true, where you can enjoy the best fish, fruit, spices or even sushi.
Cadiz is eating churros at the Plaza de las Flores or meeting some friends for drinks at one of the many chiringuitos on the beach. ”

Make the most of your experience complementing your Spanish course with unique experiences such as Flamenco, Cooking or Art Classes, or traveling around Spain, even doing the mystical Camino de Santiago accompanied by a Spanish teacher, and many other options …

In Cádiz, like any good coastal town in Southern Spain, fried fish is the most typical dish. You can enjoy delicious “boquerones”, marinated dogfish, shrimp omelettes … an incredible array of the best seafood around.
Also, Cádiz is known for its “ostiones” (similar to oysters) and sea urchins, which are best enjoyed alongside some manzanilla wine or refreshing beer. With either of these options, you have you’ll get the best taste of the sea. Cadiz is also known for its chicharrones, strips of fried pork in paprika butter. It is a must-have appetizer. Churros are great for breakfast or even as a snack. Nobody can resist some churros or porras with a coffee or hot chocolate. You’ll find plenty of cafes to enjoy them.

I have always loved learning new languages and after English and German, I decided to go with tarted Spanish, assuming that being Italian would be much easier, but I was wrong. I was able to read and understand the general meaning but I had issues in speaking
