Granada

One of the most charming cities in Spain. Granada is magic, it’s tradition, it is art and also culture. Granada is the city of the Alhambra, the neighborhoods of Sacromonte and Albaicín, tapas and tea houses. Granada is the place where you can see ”the most beautiful sunset the world”.These were the words President Bill Clinton said when he made the trek to the Mirador de San Nicolas, with his wife Hillary, to enjoy the magnificent views. Also, Granada sits in a privileged location: situated half hour from Sierra Nevada (for the ski lovers) and only one hour from the beach of Almuñecar. It is a city full of life, friendly people and lots of “duende”.

We recommend getting lost in the neighborhood of Albaicin, with its whitewashed alleyways, including from which you can every now and then see the majestic Alhambra. Just like discovering the Sacromonte neighborhood, where art and the magic of flamenco live in caves under the mountains. In Granada, “tapas” is part of the local culture. Enjoy the hundreds of bars where every time you order a drink you get a tapa (small plate) of food alongside it. Eating out is free! And after the tapas, we recommend enjoying some lushious tea at one of the many Tetarías in old town and then top off the day with a relaxing visit to an authentic Arab Hamman. Granada, is made to be enjoyed day and night. Granada’s nightlife is very eclectic, full of college atmosphere in the streets, some bars with modern music, some flamenco music in others … Granada never sleeps, it is always alive.

Make the most of your experience complementing your Spanish course with unique experiences such as Flamenco, Cooking or Art Classes, or traveling around Spain, even doing the mystical Camino de Santiago accompanied by a Spanish teacher, and many other options …

In Granada you can taste hundreds of tapas while walking about town. It is customary in bars t get a small dish of food with every drink you order.. However, if you find yourself in Granada you can’t leave without trying the beans with ham, olla de San Antón, Sacromonte omelette, and other typical dishes of Andalusian cuisine, such as Andalusian gazpacho.

I have always loved learning new languages and after English and German, I decided to go with tarted Spanish, assuming that being Italian would be much easier, but I was wrong. I was able to read and understand the general meaning but I had issues in speaking
